Student Government is a committee within the school. This committee consists of a board and the class representatives. The different positions in the board are as follows: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and public relations officer. The board members are elected by the student body. Two class representatives are chosen from each class by the students of that class.
The Student Government Committee gives donations to various organizations, such as the I Can Foundation. They also organize different fundraising events, such as the Walk-A-Thon, Valentine’s Day sales, and Mother’s Day sales.
One of the service goals within the school is to raise enough money to give two partial scholarships to two students at the end of each year. Student Government helps to develop leadership and organizational skills of the participating students. This committee gives students the chance to work, learn to respect other people’s perspective, and to propose their own ideas.
